The novel coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus is affecting our lives in many ways. According to the American Kennel Club, there are no known cases of dogs or other common companion animals being infected by the COVID-19 coronavirus. Owners should continue to follow basic hygiene with their dogs, but no special precautions are necessary. There is certainly no need for a dog to wear a face mask.
