Lafora-affected dogs sought for clinical trial of potential therapy

Dr. Berge Minassian, Chief of Pediatric Neurology at the University of Texas Southwestern, has been working for 20 years with colleagues to understand the gene mutation that causes Lafora disease and to develop a potential therapy.

Dr. Minassian is looking for Basset Hounds and other breeds of dogs affected by Lafora for participation in an upcoming clinical trial.
